The term ‘Gap year’ otherwise known as sabbatical or time out, refers to a period of time taken after completion of studies to pursue non-curricular activities such as travel or volunteer work. This term often refers to students who’ve completed secondary education (Highschool) and have enrolled in tertiary education (College) in the following year.
